Drugs and higher consciousness

I have been following some discussions on Joe Rogan's podcast about the benefits of achieving higher consciousness by using various drugs.

My opinion.

Fundamentally, a person can achieve a higher consciousness or altered consciousness by using a drug. It is a state that spikes and fades depending on the persons karma expressed through genetics, social environment, and spiritual state of being.  3 states not 2 as  psychologists suggest. There is a cost and benefit analysis that occurs. Drugs will tax the system in exchange for the altered consciousness. Not everyone can handle this well. Often a person will be left in a lessor state of being from when they started.  Or they will need to continuously invoke the effect of the drug as a type of addiction. Thus losing performance in the everyday life.

In comparison meditation and prayer will follow the same consciousness path but over a longer interval of time. A practitioner will slowly build up their existence to hold a greater higher consciousness on a daily basis. It won't fade as the drug or dream experience does. The meditator will be in exact control of the state of their consciousness and upon what plane they wish it to exist. The drug user has no such ability unless it has been created by past karma.

The facility of a drug or a certain class of drugs can offer a person a way to reorganize memory and internalized stress. To the extent this can clear up a persons negative emotions and thought forms then it is like a baptism allowing the person to start over. A process of reason and faith is still needed for the person to build on.

How people initiate themselves and transform their being is unique to the person. At that tip of the spike a person needs to be able to ask a question. The question can be rich and resilient and kind. The answer will stay stronger if one has a foundation in mediation or prayer. A practiced foundation daily.

There are esoteric laws around this type of creativity and questioning. For most it will not be easy. The difficulty in creative balance needs to be grasped, held briefly, and integrated into the personality,

Can I pose a difficult question to you? And can you crystallize around your response with a form of beauty? Something you can see and let go of and see again. I suppose the informative source here is the poet Rumi.

Again, within the process of drugs most of this conversation is lost upon its beginning. There are a few exceptions, but they are not the rule.

In a more deconstructed manner we may accept the axiom that higher consciousness can be dipped into by turning a set of existence gears on and off.  The drug surges through the formula with no pattern of memory repetition. The meditation consciously constructs the formula with a complete memory of the pattern of repetition.

And there is a mystery of what lies beyond this pattern for this formula. Somewhere a drug will deny you for the benefit of the drug.
